E.C.D. Global (Pvt) Ltd., was formed in the year 1995 with the objective of providing transport to clients both in the private and state sectors. It would also be pertinent to mention that the parent Company of E.C.D. Global (Pvt) Ltd. which functioned previously under the name and style of E.C.D. Transporters (Pvt) Ltd was formed way back in 1983 in a very small way.

Mr. Emil F. Kronemberg is the founder Chairman/Managing Director of this Company under whose guidance and perseverance the Company has grown from strength to strength.


The services provided were more personalized and custom tailored to meet each customers individual requirements. Due to this personalized attention, most of the clients who started with the parent Company still continue to patronize our services almost 18 years.

We are proud to state that in May 2002 we were awarded the prestigious tender for Sri Lankan Airline's transport of Tech and Cabin Crew, which is an ongoing exercise. We are also the ground handlers for Boutique Sri Lanka and Wildlife Trails, Tour Operators based in London.

In the year 2000 we were able to also add on to our increasing list of clients, the American Embassy and Canadian High Commission.

Our services cover a multitude of requirements, not only for the travel trade but also for construction work, Highway and Transmission line developments. We work very closely with NGOs, representatives of both Japanese and Korean multinational Companies, over the past few years.

Apart from the above our services have been sought after, for the handling of conventions, conferences and state functions which include the coverage from the Airport arrival to hotel reservations, arrangements of conference venues, city tours, banquets and up to the final departure at the Airport. We offer a total package covering these areas with experienced staff well versed in all aspects of such requirements.


Our present fleet of vehicles number in all, 200 units made up of luxury cars, Sedans, Double Cabs, Luxury vans, 26 Seater luxury mini coaches, 45 Seater Luxury Coaches, Pajeros and Land Cruisers. Of this lot of vehicles 53 are allocated for the Sri Lankan Airlines operations. The balance is utilized for our in-house operations, servicing the private and state sectors.


The transport departments are handled by Managers who have over 18 years of experience in the armed services and in the private sector. We also have a team of well experienced staff solely dedicated for operations. All members of the staff are well conversant to address themselves both to any operational or logistical matters.


We have three Operation centers located at Mattakkuliya (Colombo 15), Moratuwa and Katunayake Airport within the Sri Lankan Airlines premises. In case of a break down, replacement vehicles could be sent to you within a short period of time from either of these places or send our Mobile break down service truck for immediate repairs and attention.


A significant feature of our service to our clients is that we are contactable 24 hours of the day, 365 days of the year at 3 of our operating centers. This means that any of our clients can always seek any form of assistance, be it for the hire of a vehicle or attendance for break down at any time during the day or night right throughout the year.

All vehicles working for our clients will carry mobile phones so that they could be contacted in any part of the country at any time of the day or night.


All our drivers have a minimum of five years experience and some over ten to fifteen years. They are also very knowledgeable of the Colombo Roads as well as the outstation road network including the North and the North East and could attend to minor repairs on the run. Our drivers will be attired in our Company uniform and will be provided mobile phones for easy access anytime. Most of our drivers are conversant in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
It is also pertinent to mention that our drivers have been trained on Defensive Driving conducted by the Institute of Advance Motoring.


Our maintenance staff is made up of mechanics who have experience of well over 8 years and are ably assisted by helpers who also have 3 to 4 years of experience. We also have a maintenance officer under whose guidance the emergency repairs and maintenance is carried out. He has overall supervision of the mechanics and the helpers in the garage. The chief mechanic and maintenance officer is equipped with mobile phones and is on call 24 hours a day to attend to breakdowns and any other minor repairs etc.


We carry our own stocks of diesel and petrol, which gives us uninterrupted services to our customers for a minimum period of at least four weeks, in the event of disruption or strikes by the Petroleum Corporation.
